Awaiting Your Return From Shore

7 Seas Luxury Cruises Castries The shoreline of St. Lucia is nothing short of spectacular, with its hidden coves and unspoiled beaches. The two sugarloaf-shaped cones, known as the Pitons, are the most prominent sights. They are the island’s highest peaks and its most impressive landmarks. The best view is available as your ship past en route to Barbados.

Pier Information
The ship is scheduled to dock at Pointe Seraphine. The Left of town can be reached on foot in about 15 minutes. Taxi rates are government controlled, but it is advisable to agree on the fare with the driver before setting out.

Shopping
Adjacent to the pier is the Pointe Seraphine duty-free shopping complex. Shops in town cater mostly to local clientele. The island’s best-known products include hand-screened batik fabrics, pottery, and straw articles.

Cuisine
Seafood is a frequent item on many menus. Creole and typical Caribbean-style dishes are popular; they can be sampled at the Green Parrot and San Antoine, both located at Morne Fortune, with superb views of the bay.

Other Sights
Cathedral
The cathedral in Derek Walcott Square was built between 1894 and 1897; its interior has beautiful stained-glass windows. Also in the square is a 400-year-old Saman tree.
Market Hall
Built entirely of iron in 1894, it was meant to enhance the appearance of the town and provide a sheltered place for fruit and produce vendors.
Flight Seeing. St. Lucia's great scenic beauty invites aerial tours.
Golf. There is a 9-hole course at Sandals St. Lucia Golf Resort & Spa. The golf course at the Cap Estate Golf & Country Club is being upgraded from 9 to 18 holes.
